Tony and Linda
Jones have been restoring period furniture in our workshops in
the Yorkshire Dales since 1994.
It is strictly a family business that has sympathetically
conserved and restored antique furniture over that period to
maintain its’ usefulness, beauty and timeless appeal.
As professional restorers, formally trained, and fully
insured, our customers can have full trust and confidence in our
service. Our
specialisms also include traditional re-upholstery and re-seating
in both cane and rush.
Our
workshops are conveniently situated to serve all the Yorkshire
Dales area and local towns and cities like Harrogate, Ripon,
Darlington, Northallerton, Leyburn, Hawes, Richmond etc.
Linda
has been an upholsterer for the last twenty years but it was only
when we came to live in Yorkshire that this was formally
recognised when she was awarded her City & Guilds
qualifications at Leeds College of Art & Design.
Skilled in the traditional discipline of upholstery her
work also covers restoration in canework and rush.
Tony
is a joiner by trade but has been restoring antique furniture for
many years. He served
a traditional apprenticeship and was awarded both Craft and
Advanced Craft City & Guilds.
A short time ago he was granted Licentiateship of the City
and Guilds of London Institute.
He is still a full and active member of the Institute of
Carpenters. The
Institute honoured him two years ago with the title Master Joiner.
After a one-year full time course in antique furniture
restoration at West Dean College in Sussex, he graduated with
Credit and has a British Antique Dealers Association Diploma.
We
are both members of the York Consortium for Conservation &
Craftsmanship and The Regional Furniture Society.
Both
Linda and Tony are passionate about their work and their
approach and commitment to it and continually update their
knowledge and skills for the benefit of not only their own
professionalism but because their customers deserve it.
We
have a comprehensive library of reference books to ensure any
research we need to do to get the restoration right is there and
at hand.
